Barbara A Copenhaver Bailey, EdD
Dr. Barbara Copenhaver Bailey joined the Office of Student Conduct in 2017. She has over 25 years of experience working in Student Life higher education.
Dr. Copenhaver Bailey has worked in Student Life at WVU since 1993 and is currently working in the Office of Student Conduct. Previous roles in WVU Student Life have included Assistant Vice President for Student Success, Director of Assessment, and Director of Student Support Services/TRIO program. Dr. Copenhaver Bailey is a past president of the West Virginia state TRIO professional association, WVAEOPP. She also served as treasurer of WVASPA, WV Association of Student Personnel Administrators, for two terms. In addition, she is a member of NASPA and AACU. Prior to working at West Virginia University, Dr. Copenhaver Bailey taught Social Studies in the public school system in West Virginia and for the federal government on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona.
Dr. Copenhaver Bailey has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education. She received her masters degree in Agricultural and Extension Education from WVU in 1991, and her Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in May 2005. Her dissertation research was a longitudinal, comparison study on graduation rates of first-generation, low-income college students at WVU.
